EPM FastTrack solutions with Oracle Hyperion
Transformation in SAP
EPM FastTrack takes an innovative approach to integrating data with Hyperion.
In contrast to many Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) tools, EPM FastTrack transforms the Hyperion data from SAP data and validates the transformed data against the Hyperion metadata, all within SAP in real-time, and then seamlessly loads the data into Hyperion.
The complete Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) application metadata is made available in SAP, enabling comprehensive validations of HFM data and intersections.
Users can drill down from the transformed Hyperion data in SAP to the underlying SAP data and transactions, meaning users can trace where individual transaction lines are included in the Hyperion data.
Continuous Accounting
Real-time conversion of SAP to Hyperion data, means that the Hyperion data can be reviewed and validated throughout the month in SAP.
Any errors arising become immediately apparent as soon as they occur and can be notified to users through workflow
Direct drill-down from the Hyperion data to the underlying transactions enables the documents causing the errors to be quickly identified and remedial action to be taken, well before the period close.
At the period close users can be confident the data is correct and can be readily interfaced to Hyperion.
Quality and Integrity
The high level of automation in the preparation of Hyperion data and transparency between the Hyperion and SAP data, ensures the quality and integrity of the data reported in Hyperion.
As EPM FastTrack derives the Hyperion data directly from the underlying transaction data within SAP, stakeholders can be confident that financial statements prepared in Hyperion are supported by the underlying transaction system.
Integration
EPM FastTrack seamlessly integrates with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) using industry standard REST API technology and security.
Data and journals can be directly loaded into HFM from SAP and the HFM application metadata can be automatically synchronized between HFM and SAP.
As part of continuous accounting, scan loads in HFM can be called directly from SAP to validate the current data and report the results back in SAP.
Performance
EPM FastTrack harnesses the power of S/4 HANA with the data selection and mapping from SAP to Hyperion being carried out at the database level.
This means that Hyperion data can be rapidly determined from highly granular transaction data. In SAP ECC, the transformation is accelerated through parallel processing.
The smart conversion engine optimises the selected data based on the transformation rules defined, enabling real-time preparation of Hyperion data.
Business User-Tool
EPM FastTrack has been designed as a business user tool.
The selection and conversion of data can be built up to match the different analyses required for financial reporting in Hyperion, e.g. closing balance sheets, inter-company analysis and geographical sales analysis.
In the initial set-up, users can continually review the results in SAP, drill-down to the underlying SAP data and carry out a mapping trace to understand how Hyperion dimensions are determined from the SAP data.
Comprehensive
The full data required for Hyperion is normally far and beyond a simple balance sheet and income statement.
Further information, such as balance sheet movements, intercompany transactions and geographical and product income analysis, is required.
As EPM FastTrack is built into SAP, data from anywhere in SAP can used and transformed for Hyperion reporting, so automating the preparation of further detailed information and eliminating the need for effort intensive manual enrichment.
Cost of Ownership
EPM FastTrack is an SAP Certified ABAP add-on and therefore requires no further hardware as it can be installed into your existing SAP landscape.
Once the software component has been installed by the SAP Basis team, EPM FastTrack can be quickly implemented by your SAP users and support teams. In addition, as EPM FastTrack uses familiar SAP functionality, your existing SAP support function can readily provide ongoing support for the software.
EPM FastTrack has been designed for extensibility and can be easily enhanced by your own SAP team if required.
